Do I need to know how to pole dance?

Not necessarily. We will teach you how to do up to 50 basic moves for beginners, which you can learn correctly and then demonstrate as part of your class. The moves that we include in this course are BEGINNER level. They do not include inverts or climbs. You will learn transistions, spins, poses and floor work as well as short pole dance choreography.

On signing up you will be sent an online log-in to our training website with all the materials you need.

Section 1 is home study and home examination based. You can take this section on the internet and the examination consists of a 60 question exam. Study can be completed in as little as 1 week if studying full time, but takes most of our clients about 1 month part time.

Section 2 is assessed via an online video and class plan submissions.  In addition to planning work and log-keeping, you'll be assessed in a short practical, where you will be asked to plan and teach a class. Your video assessments are examined and moderated by highly qualified instructors and are independently reviewed to ensure our training meets the level your employers will expect.

What equipment do I need to take this course?

You will need access to a pole, either in your home (e.g. an x-pole of similar) or in a gym or other studio. You will also need high speed internet access in Windows to view moves and download materials, email, and a video camera and willing friend to film your class.

What qualification will I receive?

There is currently no nationally recognised online pole dance teaching certification.  Some gym class providers will prefer courses accredited by their preferred awarding body, so please check with your employer if you require this award for a specific job. Our pole dance qualification is certified by Creation Dance and focuses on the DANCE aspect of pole - as opposed to the ACROBATIC aspect of pole.

You will receive  a Creation Dance Teacher Training certification and be admitted to the CDTN (Creation Dance Teachers Network) where employers can source qualified instructors for their classes. You can show your qualification to any other employer who requires formal qualifcation in pole dance. Past students now teach in various pole dance schools and have judged international pole dance championships, as well as set up their own dance classes.

What if I want to teach more advanced classes?

Our intermediate level course will soon be online to purchase. This course will introduce you to climbs, inverts and intermediate spins and transitions. You must complete the beginners course before moving onto the intermediate course.
